Jennings Bryan Critchfield, Jr.
Jennings Bryan Critchfield, Jr., 46, of Philippi, passed away Monday afternoon, March 10, 2008, following a brief illness. He was born December 22, 1961, in Painesville, OH, the son of Judy L. White Stallman and the stepson of William “Bill” Stallman, who survive in Philippi, and the late Jennings B. Critchfield.
In addition to his mother and step-father, he is survived by a son, Jennings Bryan Critchfield, III, Philippi; a daughter, Leah Loraine Critchfield, Keyser; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanna and Bill Renzelli, Jr., Philippi, and Julie and Chuck Thomas, Quiet Dell; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Porter and Virgie Critchfield; his maternal grandparents, Fred & Norma White; his wife, Donna Ware Critchfield; and a half-brother, James Allen.
Bryan was formerly a mechanic, and he enjoyed playing his guitar, camping and fishing. He was a jokester and happy-go-lucky person who was loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Thursday at 11 am with Reverend Thomas P. Horne presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
