Send condolences to the Kisner Family

Jack Kisner

L. Jack Kisner, 70, of Flemington, answered Jesus’ call to come to his Heavenly Home Friday morning, February 29, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Morgantown on April 6, 1937, a son of the late Ansel and Edith Marsh Kisner. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deanna  Helm, whom he met at Harmony Grove Baptist Church.  They were married August 17, 1957.

Also surviving are a son, Larry Todd Kisner and his wife Judy, Flemington; and a daughter, Misti Lynn Fancher and her husband John, Shinnston; and 3 grandchildren, Amber, Kelsi, and Derrick. His five sisters, Betty Hibbs and her husband Sonny, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Dina Cathell and husband Harry, Grafton; Trina Vallorani and her husband Gene, Beaumont, TX; Barbara Kester, Grafton; Debbie Opyoke and her husband Andy, Grafton; and three brothers, Dowdy Kisner and his wife Betty, Grafton; Ronald Kisner and his wife Jean, Bridgeport; Terry Kisner and his wife Nadine, Grafton; his brothers-in-law, Albert Moore, Grafton; and James Morgan Helm and his wife Arlene, Littlestown, PA; and several nieces and nephews complete his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Moore; and two brothers, Donley and Wayman Guy Kisner.

Jack served in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, and owned his own construction company, Jack Kisner Construction, which continued for 40 years.  He attended Middleville Baptist Church, where he participated in the annual Live Nativity.  He enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, gardening, blackberry picking, and making annual trips with his brothers, son and nephews to Squirrel Gap since 1966.  He was also a member of the Stone Coal Lake Fishing Club. Until recently, Jack and Deanna held annual corn roasts for family and friends.  Jack had a big, generous heart who loved people and he was a big cut up.

Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 1-8 pm. Jack will lie in state at Harmony Grove Baptist Church on Monday from 11 a.m – 1 pm, where services will be held at  1 p.m. with Pastor Paul Boyles and Pastor Jim Baker presiding.  Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery.
