Robert E. Haddox, Sr.
Robert E. Haddox, Sr., 73, of Chesapeake, VA, and a long time resident of Clarksburg, passed away Friday evening, February 1, 2008. He was born on November 18, 1934, in Good Hope, a son of the late Hubert E. and Martha Alice Stuttler Haddox.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Elaine Caldwell Haddox, on August 15, 1999.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Haddox, Jr., and his wife Kay, Chesapeake, VA; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa D. Butcher and her husband Robert, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 4 grandchildren, Eric Robert and Brittany Elaine Butcher; and Danielle Nicole and Samantha Lynne Haddox; and a sister, Mildred Louise Stark, of Clarksburg.
Robert served his country in the US Army as a mechanic. He then worked as a mechanic for Byron Construction, Mt. State Linen, United Welding, and retired from Browning & Ferris. He was a former member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church and the Clarksburg Moose.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 12 – 2 pm & 5 –7 pm, and on Thursday from 10-11 am, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2008, with Reverend O.D. Harmon presiding. Interment will follow in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
