Lyndall I. Williams
Lyndall I. Williams, 89, of Wolf Summit, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 6, 2008, at her residence. She was born May 10, 1918, in Reynoldsville, a daughter of the late John and Lucetta “Lula” Winans Maston.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Fred L. Williams, on June 23, 1969.
Lyndall is survived by 11 children, Orpha Freeman of Wolf Summit; Ardiena Wells of Fort Myers, FL; Shirley Flanigan of Wolf Summit; Fred L. Williams, Jr. and his wife Linda of Anmoore; Beverly Kesner and her husband Dale of Dayton, OH; SFC Ethelene Festervan, Ret., and her husband Chuck of Shinnston; Iona Scharfenerger and her husband Kris of Radcliff, KY; Vickie Williams and her husband Marlin of Winfield; Jessie L. Williams and his wife Veronica of Clarksburg; SGM Vias E. Williams, Ret., and his wife Betty of Elizabethtown, KY; Sherry LeGars & her husband Albert, Northern Cambria, PA; 31 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers-in-law, Charles Williams, Clarksburg; and Frank Dennison, Bristol; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Riffle, Salem; and several nieces and nephews complete the family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Lee Williams and Virginia Ruth Williams; a granddaughter, Melissa Flanigan; a grandson, Jeff Freeman; great-grandsons, Jason Smith and Braden Harris; three brothers, John Maston, Jim Maston, and Kenneth Maston; and a sister, Laura Maston.
Lyndall worked for over 17 years at the Gore Hotel as a cook. She was a member of North View Church of God, and enjoyed travelling, sewing quilts, and country music. She was loved by all of her family.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 2-8 pm, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning with Pastor Jason Horrocks presiding. Interment will follow in Coplin Cemetery.
