Helen M. Spisak
Helen M. Spisak, 74 , of Clarksburg, passed away early Wednesday morning on December 5, 2007, after a very long illness. Helen put up a great fight despite her suffering and she refused to give up on life, and most important never lost faith in her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
She was born on January 5, 1933, in Philadelphia, PA, the youngest of seven children born to the late John and Ottilia Kittle Gumminger.
On November 8, 1952, she married Paul A. Spisak, who preceded her in death in 1989.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first beloved grandson, Mark Spisak, Jr., in 1990 at the age of 13. In 2007, her oldest son, Mark Spisak, also went home to the Lord.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Pamela Orris and Paula Spisak; her son, Paul Spisak, Jr.; two grandaughters, Lauren and Crystal Spisak; and four grandsons, Vincent Spisak, Andrew and Matthew Lasz, and Christopher Compton; and two sisters, Mrs. Rita Hyson and Mrs. Betty Komar.
Helen was a graduate of St. Raphael's High School in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a kind, gentle, and selfless person in life. Despite her illness Helen was very brave and she never complained. She was loved by everyone that knew her, and will be deeply and greatly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Helen would greatly appreciate memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of WV, 1299 Pineview Drive, Suite 3, Morgantown, WV 26505, as she was a donor to many charities of the poor and suffering in this world.
Services will be held on Monday, December 10th at the Rigby and Hagan Funeral Home, Media, PA. She will be buried at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA with her loved ones who are waiting for her in Heaven.
