Charles W. Bowling
Charles W. Bowling, 79, of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, in Cleveland Clinic. He was born April 1, 1928, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late Charles A. Bowling and Helen Carson Bowling Webber.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” P. Bowling, whom he married October 26, 1991.
Also surviving are 3 sons, Charles J. Bowling, Jacksonville, FL; Robert S. Bowling, Orlando, FL; and Kevin S. Bowling and his wife Janet, Cookeville, TN; his combined family, Beth A. Nooralian and husband Massoud, Fairfax, VA; Brenda K. Dalessandro and husband Mark, Tucson, AZ; and Scott P. Burnside, Bridgeport; and 6 grandchildren, Sean, Wesley, and Carson Bowling; Jared and Jacob Dalessandro; and Skyler Nooralian; a sister, Rosemary Reagan, Buffalo, NY; and his former wife, Mary M. Evans, Cookeville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold E. Carson and Bernard C. Bowling; and a sister, Rita Seibert.
Charlie graduated from Niagara Falls High School and attended the University of Buffalo. He served in the US Army, and retired from Union Carbide in 1982 after 35 years of service. He had served in several capacities, retiring as superintendant of graphite.
He was a member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church, Late Lodge #63, A.F. & A.M., Bridgeport, the Central WV Shrine Club, and Orient Chapter #9 Royal Arch Masons.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Mr. John Hudkins presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
