William F. Lowther
William F. Lowther, Sr., 80, of Bridgeport, died November 18, 2007. He was born June 18, 1927, in Bridgeport, a son of the late Otis and Eva Swisher Lowther.
He is survived by his wife Mary Alice Lowther whom he married October 23, 1955. He is also survived by his son William F. Lowther, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Hollywood, MD; two daughters, Sandra Mills of Racine, OH and Linda Francis and her husband Russell of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Carla Ruble and her husband Jeff, Tricia Whittington and her husband Jason, Christy Corcoglioniti, Blake and Kelsey Lowther; two great-grandsons, Cole and Camden Ruble; two sisters, June Foreman of Nutter Fort and Jean Sperling of Poquoson, VA.
William was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Kittle; four brothers, Edgar, Robert Sr., Steve, and James Lowther; and two sisters, Mary Shepherd and Helen Ferrando.
William was a 50 year member of the Hermon Masonic Lodge No. 6, A. F. & A. M. in Clarksburg and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason with memberships in the Clarksburg and Wheeling Bodies.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Reverend Nelson Harris and Reverend Larry Crawford presiding. Interment will follow at the Trinity Cemetery on Brushy Fork Road. Hermon Masonic Lodge No. 6 A.F. & A.M. will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for the purpose of conducting graveside rites for Mr. Lowther.
