Philip Wright Soden (1971-2007)
Philip Wright Soden, 35, loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, died unexpectedly on October 8, 2007. Philip was born on December 22, 1971 in Princeton, NJ a son of Jeffrey and Glenda Soden, who survive him in Bridgeport.
In addition to his parents, Philip is survived by his wife, Shannon Marie Coulter Soden, his daughter, Aislin, and his son Tyler, all of Bridgeport and his sister, Christy Hoffman, his brother-in-law, Eric Hoffman and his nephew Ethan, all of Freehold, NJ.
He grew up in Danvers, MA where he graduated from Danvers High School, Class of 1990. After moving to Bridgeport, WV, he attended West Virginia University. He subsequently was employed by McDonald’s and attained the position of Assistant Store Manager. He later joined the Video Warehouse video rental chain as the Store Manager in Clarksburg and Morgantown stores. For the past three years he had been a District Manager for as many as thirteen Video Warehouse stores in five states.
He was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. Philip’s passions were photographing his family and mastering Adobe Photoshop on his computer. He will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions in Philip’s name please be made to the West Virginia University Children’s Hospital, PO Box 8200, Morgantown, WV 26506
Friends and family will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 7:00 – 9:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Dr., Bridgeport at 1:00 PM on Saturday with Reverend Steven E. Dorsey presiding.
