In Loving Memory of
Brian Keith DeGroot
(July 22, 1958 - September 23, 2007)
Brian Keith DeGroot, 49, most recently of Bridgeport, WV and formerly of Iowa and North Carolina, passed away at the residence of parents in Bridgeport early Sunday morning, September 23, 2007 after a long illness. He was in the presence of his family and under the care of Tender Loving Care Hospice. He was born July 22, 1958 in Sioux Center, Iowa, a son of Marvin H. and Betty Mieras DeGroot.
In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his two brothers, Bruce DeGroot and his wife Tanna of Core, WV and Robert DeGroot of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brian was employed for over ten years with MCI, lastly there as a Supervisor over the construction of fiber optic cabling. He also worked for the North Carolina Department of Highways as a heavy equipment operator and enjoying driving stock cars in his spare time.
Brian will be remembered by his family and friends as a very independent country boy who could associate with anyone, anywhere. His travels took him to all four corners of our country. He was a respectful and caring man who held no prejudices toward any human being, and his life and memory will be held precious by all who knew him.
Brian’s life and memory can be best summed up with these words:

At Brian’s request, there will be no public viewing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Hagans Christian Church, Hagans, WV, Rt. 19 N. outside of Rivesville, WV at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2007. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be held at a later date in Sioux Center, Iowa on the family plot.
