Send Condolences to the Mullenix Family

Bert D. Mullenix (1932-2007)

Bert D. Mullenix, 74 of S. Pike St., Anmoore, WV, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his residence. He was born October 30, 1932 in Wolf Summit, WV, a son of the late Bert I. and Margaret L. White Mullenix. 

He is survived by his second wife, Sadie Eileen Adams Swiger Mullenix, whom he married November 27, 2006. 

Additionally, he is survived by four children, Bert D. Mullenix, Jr. and his wife Kay of Harrisville, WV, Letcher L. McKinney of Barbour County, Danny R. Swiger and his wife Sonia of Anmoore and Megan D. Swiger of Anmoore; six grandchildren, Michael Mullenix, Chrystal Allen, Elizabeth Swiger, Danny R. Swiger, Jr., Kerri C. Swiger and Michael Kelley; and two sisters, Ella D. Thompson of Florida and Archilene Gaziano of Nova Scotia, Canada. 

In addition to his parents, his first wife, Dottie V. Mullenix, and one half-brother, Lawrence B. Mullenix, preceded him in death. 

Bert was a self employed tractor-trailer and coal truck driver for 57 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the United States Army from March of 1953 until February of 1955. He was a member of VFW Post 573, and an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He will be remembered fondly for his great sense of humor and being an all around good guy. 

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2007. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Madaus presiding. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV, where full military honors will be conducted at the graveside.
