Send Condolences to the Stewart Family

Charles A. Stewart (1940-2007)

Our beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother and friend, Charles Alfred Stewart, 67 of Hall Valley Dr., Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 21, 2007 at his residence following a long illness. He was born July 22, 1940 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Harry Stewart, III and the late Marie Lough Stewart. 

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nancy L. Kellar Stewart, whom he married December 30, 1985. 

Additionally, he is survived by three children, Mark Stewart and his wife Vanessa of North Carolina, Heidi Stewart of Florida and Eric Stewart and his wife Bernadette of Wexford, PA; and three step-children Aaron McCroby of Warren, OH, Kara Maggard and her husband Josh of Trenton, OH and Staff Sergeant Troy McCroby, currently serving our country in the United States Army in Iraq. He was also blessed with 11 grandchildren. 

Mr. Stewart is also survived by eight siblings, Arma Depaugh and her husband Dave of Tuscon, AZ, Annie Alan and her husband Bill of California, Vickie Johnson and her husband Pat, Joe Stewart and his wife Debbie, Alberta Bottomley, and Jimmy Stewart and his wife Cheryl all of Tuscon, AZ, Frank Stewart and his wife Susie of Orlando, FL and Harry Stewart and his wife Randy of Dallas, TX; his step-mother and step-father, Dorla and Earl Rexroth of Tuscon, AZ, his first wife Linda Stewart of North Carolina and his second wife, Sara Stewart of Mt. Clare. 

Mr. Stewart was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and retired in May of 2003 from Roadway Express where he worked as a tractor-trailer driver for 15 years. He also worked Nuzum Trucking Company in Shinnston, W.S. Thomas Transfer in Fairmont and other companies in his lifetime. He also worked for a period of time as a door greeter at Wal-Mart in Warren, OH. 

He enjoyed working on his computer and loved making and flying remote controlled airplanes. He was a Methodist by faith and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1012 in Cortland, OH. 

He had many friends who he loved spending time with and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. 

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2007. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday in the funeral home with Reverend Rita Robinson presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell.
