Betty Jo Miller Bonnell
August 12, 1931 - August 16, 2007
Betty Jo Miller Bonnell, 76, of Lumberport, passed away Thursday evening, August 16, 2007, in the United Hospital Center. She was born on August 12, 1931, in Dola, the only daughter of the late Archie and Sarah McCullough Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene Bonnell, whom she married July 9, 1948.
Also surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Fox and her husband Monty, Lumberport; Bonna Newbrough and her husband Richard, Lumberport; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald E. Bonnell and his wife Janis, Clarksburg; 3 grandchildren, Eugene Sandy and his wife Connie, Fairmont; Adrienne Bonnell Miller and her husband Matt, Lumberport; and Jason D. Miller, Lumberport; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Ray Miller, Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Lynn Bonnell in 1993, and a granddaughter, Mary Jo Sandy in 1980.
Betty Jo was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family first of all. She had worked for G.C. Murphy’s in Clarksburg, Heartland Nursing Home, and had sold Avon and Stanley products for over 15 years. She also enjoyed crocheting and taking trips, and she was a member of the Cambria Pentecostal Church.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, from 6- 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will follow in the Lumberport Lions Club Cemetery.
