Eugene E. "Bud" Tate (1932-2007)

Eugene Edward “Bud” Tate, 75 of Adams Ave., Clarksburg, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 9, 2007 at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born January 8, 1932 in Clarksburg, a son of the late George B. and Meryl Virginia Blaney Tate. 

Bud is survived by four sisters, Pauline E. Kinney of Clarksburg, Geri Shaughnessey of Lakewood, CA, Martha G. Willard of Tehachapi, CA, Mary E. Hamrick and her husband Wilbert of Clarksburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Bud was a career military man, having served his country in the armed services for 28 years. He was first discharged from the United States Air Force in January of 1965, and the re-enlisted in the United States Army, where he finally retired as a Sergeant in January of 1992.  

He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and always a very good and kind-hearted man - continually helping others in their time of need. 

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave. Bridgeport from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday, August 12, 2007. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Monday with Reverend Etheldean Yanero presiding. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, where Full Military Honors will be accorded.
