Betty Jean Stull Morris, 82, of Coplin Avenue, East View, died Friday morning, July 20, 2007, following a brief illness. She was born in Stealey on December 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Gilbert and Bessie Merle Cunningham Stull.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Harold E. Morris.
Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Larry Hayes, Columbus, OH; 2 sons, Harold Edward Morris, Jr., Richmond, VA; and Danny Ray Morris, Washington, DC; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Delbert Stull and his wife Neva, East View; and Eddie Stull and his wife Betty, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Westfall and Beatrice Sly; and a brother, Arnold Robinson.
Betty was a loving mother, an excellent cook, and was always considerate of others. She retired after 30 years of service with GC Murphy’s. She was a dedicated member of the East View United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Group and Church Choir. She enjoyed sewing and formerly bowled on Tuesday night at Compton Lanes.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Monday morning at 11 am with Reverend Jeff Winter presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
