Leah Josephine Floyd Bowman Robey (1942-2007)
Leah Josephine Floyd Bowman Robey, 65, of Bridgeport, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 3, 2007 at the residence of her daughter, Barbara Freed, on Saltwell Rd. following an extended illness while under the care of People’s Hospice. She was born March 27, 1942 in Clarksburg, WV, the only daughter of the late Joseph Snyder ad Virginia Victoria Martin Floyd.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Perry Bowman; and two sons, William Layne Bowman and John Forrest Bowman.
Her current husband, Kermit James Robey, survives her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children including Leah J. Rymasz and her husband Joe of Summit Park, Barbara E. Freed and her husband Mike of Saltwell, Jesse W. Bowman of Wilsonburg, Charlotte L. Coffindaffer and her husband Lynn of Jarvisville, Morgan S. Bowman of Bridgeport and Daniel Colin Bowman of West Union; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Robey was a charter member of the Johnson Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, flowers and home gardening. She was a dedicated homemaker to her eight kids and a very hard worker all of her life who will be dearly missed by all of her family.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2007. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday in the funeral home with Reverend Thomas P. Horne presiding. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
