Send Condolences to the Heffner Family

Mildred Dorothy Heffner (1915-2007)

Mildred Dorothy Heffner, 91, formerly of Pennsylvania Ave., Bridgeport, passed away early Thursday morning, June 28, 2007 at Meadowview Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bridgeport. She was born September 18, 1915 in Dudley, PA, a daughter of the late Alva and Myrtle Mellott Miller. 

Her husband of 58 years, William “Ted” Heffner, preceded her in death in 1990.

Survivors include three children, Betty Moran of Bridgeport, and Barbara Revelle and James Heffner, both of Chambersburg, PA; four grandchildren including Barbara Terwilliger and her husband Michael of Bridgeport, WV, Susan Clise of Bridgeport, WV, Steven Revelle of Chambersburg, PA and Brenda Deardorff and her husband Jamie of Chambersburg, PA; five great-grandchildren including Ali Terwilliger, Nick Terwilliger, Andrew Simmers, Megan Simmers and Heather Deardorff; one brother, Richard Miller of Ayden, NC and three sisters, Hester Fox of Clarksburg, Helen Hoover of Akron, OH and Hazel Hughes of York, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Doris Heffner in 1938.

She was an active member of the First Church of God and the Willing Workers Class in Saxton, PA, the Saxton Senior Citizens Center and loved having class meetings in her home. Above all, she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by all.

Friends will be received at the Long-Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church St., Saxton, PA on Saturday June 30, 2007 from 6:00 –8:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Oberman presiding.
