
Mary Agnes Puskas Stanton

Mary Agnes Puskas Stanton, 79 of Cleveland, OH, and formerly of Archwood Ave., Bridgeport, passed away early Saturday morning, June 9, 2007 at the Villa Camillus Nursing Facility in Columbia Station, OH following an extended illness. She was born December 6, 1927 in Anmoore, a daughter of the late Lotsy L. and Lily A. Gobrick Puskas.
Her husband, Bernard E. Stanton, whom she married August 17, 1949, preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by one son, Marc A. Stanton of Berea, OH; one daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and John Sumrak of Brook Park, OH, two grandchildren, Larissa and Nicholas, one great-granddaughter, Aubrey; one brother Michael J. Puskas of South Carolina and was a beloved aunt and a cherished friend to many.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood, WV where she also worked as an office assistant for 20 years. She was also active in the St. Mary’s Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, serving in various offices in the organization. She was also a member of the Perpetual Daughters.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to the Villa Camillus, 10515 East River Road, PO Box 880, Columbia Station, OH 44028.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, WV from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, June 11, 2007. A Vigil Service will be held in the funeral home at 3:00 PM Monday afternoon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Stonewood, at 10:00 AM Tuesday with Reverend John S. Ledford as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Bridgeport Cemetery.
