Clyde H. "Stoney" Stonestreet

Clyde “Stoney” Stonestreet, Jr., 73, of Highland Dam Rd., West Milford, went home to be with his Lord Friday evening, June 8, 2007, at United Hospital Center following a brief illness. He was born March 20, 1934, in Wolf Summit, a son of the late Clyde H. Stonestreet, Sr., and the late Lenora Blanche Kelley Stonestreet.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte B. “Stoney” Reeves Stonestreet, whom he married February 9, 1957.
In addition to his wife, survivors include five children, Anita Guesford and her companion Larry Golliday of Stevens City, VA; Douglas K. Stonestreet and his wife Suzie of Reedsville; Cheryl C. Taylor and her companion Barry Lemaster of Gypsy; Clyde H. Stonestreet, III and his wife Tonya of West Milford; and Clay H. Stonestreet and his wife Tammy of Clarksburg; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother Ronnie Lee Stonestreet of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Serena Nicole Stonestreet.
He was a graduate of Bristol High School and served in the USMC during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a salesman with 17 years of service with D&W Leather of Gastonia, NC, and for the past two years has worked for Wal-Mart in the Lawn & Garden Section.
He attended the Stealey Assembly of God, and was a devout Christian who loved his Lord and Savior and loved witnessing to others about Him. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts and Peyton Manning fan.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Monday, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday with Pastor Larry Green presiding. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery & Mausoleum, West Milford.
