Zella B. Scott, 73, of Powell Avenue, Stonewood, passed away suddenly Friday evening, June 8, 2007, at her residence.  She was born November 29, 1933, in Wilsonburg, a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Ada Dolly Waggoner Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James E. Scott, on May 27, 2007.

Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Rogers, Menomonie, WI; 3 sons, Mike Scott and his companion Kim Mackey, Shinnston; Thomas E. Scott and his wife Kim, Quiet Dell; and Kevin Scott and his companion Jennifer Long, Fairmont; 3 grandsons, Brady Scott, Dean Scott, and Josh Rogers; two sisters, Delores Moore, Wilsonburg; and Lorraine “Goldie” McKinley and her husband John, Grafton; a brother, Raymond Smith, Glenville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Eddie Rogers; a brother, Clark Smith; and 3 sisters, Thelma Painter; Velma McNemar; and Edna Todd.

Zella had worked for Continental Can, and retired from Eagle Convex as a polisher with over 16 years of service.  She loved flowers and flower gardening, and could grow anything.  She also leaves behind her beloved dog, “Buster”.

Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 4-8 pm, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1 pm with Rev. Sherman Goodwin presiding.  Interment will follow in Stonewall Park Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Burnside Funeral Home, Bridgeport.
