Send Condolences to the Hoskinson Family

Lillian Virginia Hathaway Hoskinson, 91, of Anmoore, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 18, 2007, at Meadowview Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bridgeport. She was born February 18, 1916, in Anmoore, a daughter of the late Carl Forest and Hattie Mary Davisson Hathaway.

Her husband of nearly 50 years, Guyle Salathiel Hoskinson, preceded her in death in April 1988.

Lillian is survived by three sons, Floyd Hoskinson and his wife Willa of Gandy, NC; Carlton Hoskinson and his companion Loretta Cable of Bridgeport; and Carlton “Sonny” Hoskinson, Jr. and his wife Diana of Bridgeport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Fittro and her husband Jim of Quiet Dell; and Judy Lawson and her husband Jim of Bridgeport; nine grandchildren, Floyd Hoskinson, Jr., Darla Yountz, Andrea Bokey, Aaron Lawson, Brad Fittro, Carl David Hoskinson, Sean Hoskinson, Kelsey Hoskinson and Logan Hoskinson; 12 great-grandchildren including Devin Bokey, Heather Bokey, Tanner Hoskinson, Hayley Hoskinson, Zach Hoskinson, Noah Hoskinson, Marissa Yountz, Cullen Yountz, Lee Hoskinson, Chase Hoskinson, Tyler Hoskinson, Tammy Wickline and Hannah Horne; and one sister and brother-in-law, Emily Conner and her husband Trapper of Bridgeport.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by two brothers, Durwood Hathaway and Earl Hathaway.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker to her family, she was a member of the Anmoore United Methodist Church, where she served as the church’s organist for more than 50 years. She was also a member of the Anmoore United Methodist Women and the Anmoore Extention Homemakers.

She enjoyed square dancing, bowling and sewing and was an avid supporter of Bridgeport High School Sports.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions in Lillian’s memory be made to People’s Hospice, PO Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26302.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday with Reverend William G. Kniceley presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
