Barbara Ellen Linger, 71, of Wakefield Street, Bridgeport, passed away Monday evening, March 12, 2007, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born March 3, 1936, in Weston, a daughter of the late Rudolph Joseph Utzman and Mabel Agnes Peninegar Utzman Smith.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Dee Linger. The couple was married on August 21, 1955.
Additionally, she is survived by her three daughters, Caryl Ann Trippett and her husband Mark of Bridgeport; Linda Lou Linger of Jacksonville, FL; and Alice Lea Oldaker and her husband Tom of Bridgeport; two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Trippett and Justin Michael Trippett; and her only sister, Caryl McLaughlin and her husband James of Albuquerque, NM.
A member of the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and spending time at their cabin in Buckhannon. She also liked creating flower arrangements, playing cards and gardening. She was a graduate of Weston High School.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday with Reverend James Lang presiding. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
