Mary
Loraine Cumberledge Tichnell, 67, of the Pine Bluff Community, passed away
Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2007 at her residence following an extended
illness, surrounded by her family while under the care of People’s Hospice. She
was born February 8, 1940 in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Walter Aldon
“Pete” and Ruby Beatrice Dean Cumberledge.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Donald Tichnell, whom she married March 8, 1974.
Additionally, she is survived by two sons, Steven Tichnell and his wife Michelle of Lumberport, Mark Tichnell at home; and three grandchildren, Michael and Brandon Tichnell at home, and Ryan Tichnell of Lumberport.
A sister, Martha Snopps of West Milford, a brother and sister-in-law Karlon Cumberledge and his wife Jeannie of Austin, TX as well as several nieces and nephews, complete the family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son Kevin Duwayne Stewart; a sister, Sheila Cumberledge, and two brothers Paul Cumberledge and Robert Cumberledge.
Mary was a member of the Jewel City Church in Shinnston. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her family was her number one priority in life. In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening, feeding her hummingbirds and collecting knickknacks.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 3:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, February 25, 2007. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Shingleton of the Jewel City Church presiding. Interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
