Victoria J. Bitonti Mazza, age 88 of E. Main St., Clarksburg (Broadway edition), passed away early Wednesday morning, May 31, 2006 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. She was born February 18, 1918 in the Glen Elk section of Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Salvedor Bitonti and the late Maria Roda Bitonti.

 

She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Samuel B. Mazza, whom she married July 30, 1949, two sons Robert Mazza and his wife Kimberly of Clarksburg and Mark A. Mazza of Nutter Fort; one brother Jimmy Bitonti of California; four sisters Frances Levino of Ohio, Kathern Fugo of Belle Vernon, PA Flo Bellotte of California, and Sarah Lopez of Ellwood City, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Tony Bitonti, and two sisters Mary Allavotia and Rose Fernandez.

 

Vicky was employed as a packer with the Swift Meat Packing Company. She also worked for Bell Telephone Company and also worked for a period of time in an airplane factory.

 

A member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, she and her husband also were members of the Sons of Italy, William Marconi Lodge # 1140. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, flower gardening and listening to music by Frank Sinatra.

 

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday, June 2, 2006. A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday evening in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 AM Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend Cesidio J. Federico as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg.
