Steve Krosmico, age 74 of Clarksburg, passed away Sunday morning, February 12, 2006 after an extended illness at his residence. He had recently been under the care of People’s Hospice.
He was born October 12, 1931 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Martin Krosmico and the late Mary Bayi Krosmico.
Survivors include his two daughters and their spouses Beth Lynn Shinn and her husband Steve of Lander, WY and Dorine E. Claypoole and her husband Garry of Grafton; three grandchildren Garry Claypoole, Jr. and Leslie Claypoole and Conner Shinn; one brother John Krosmico and his wife Angelina of Clarksburg; one sister Anna Grossa of Anmoore; a sister-in-law Angela Krosmico of Bridgeport and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Louis, Joe, Brownie and Frank Krosmico; and one sister, Carolyn Galka.
Steve retired from the Clarksburg Post Office after many years of service. A Catholic by faith, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954. He enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and was very skilled in many areas. You could usually find him being his own handyman, tinkering with different projects at his home. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday evening, February 15, 2006 and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2006. Catholic Burial Rites will be accorded in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Reverend Cesidio J. Federico presiding. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg.
