Opal Freda Rollyson

Send Condolences to the Rollyson Family

Opal Freda Rollyson, formerly of Emerson Rd., Clarksburg, passed away on her 84th birthday late Saturday evening, January 14, 2006 at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 14, 1922 in Crooked Fork, Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Jess S. Rexroad and the late Lona B. Frame Rexroad.

Survivors include her three children Mary Moeck and her husband Paul of America Fork, UT, Lois Davis and her husband George of Bridgeport and Charlotte Jaggie and her husband Randy of Clarksburg; five grandchildren Jay Moeck, Michelle Thompson, Phillip Davis, Melissa Miller and Matthew Miller; six great-grandchildren; two brothers Harold Rexroad and his wife Veneda and Kenny Rexroad and his wife Nancy all of Gassaway; and one sister Edith (Oleta) Rexroad of Spencer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest “Bunt” Rollyson; one son Lantie Edwin Rollyson and a brother and sister-in-law Bayward Rexroad and his wife Jo.

Opal was a beautician who owned and operated “Just A Beauty Shop” in Bridgeport during the 1960’s. She was a very independent woman who enjoyed outside work, sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking and taking care of her home and family.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, January 16, 2006. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home with Dr. C. Michael Hopkins presiding. A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday afternoon at the Rosedale Methodist Church Cemetery in Braxton County.
