Nora Yvonne Hyde

Nora Yvonne Hyde, 69, of Sugar Camp Road, Shinnston,
passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, May 22, 2006 at her
residence. She was born September 14, 1936, in Folsom, a daughter of
the late Edward and Ruth Edgell Powell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Hyde.
Surviving are four sons; Danny Hyde and his wife Barbara, Bridgeport; Michael Hyde; Darren Hyde and his wife, Dana, Gates Co, NC; and Devin Hyde and his wife, Becky, Clarksburg; 4 daughters, Debbie Stout and her husband James, Sugar Camp Road; Denise Moore and her husband Larry, Waterford, OH; Dawn Clevenger and her husband Gary, Little Rock Camp; and Deena Kendall and her husband Brove, Sardis; 28 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Two half-sisters, Jeanie Highly and her husband Larry, New Martinsville; Bobbie Barker and her husband Donel, Reader; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hyde-Lantz, TN, and several nieces and nephews complete the family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dana Hyde; a daughter, Diana Upton; a sister, Bernadine Cumberledge; and 3 grandchildren, Brian Upton; Jamie Root; and Shirley Stout.
Nora was formerly a nurse’s aide for 11 years for Lillian’s Loving Care in Portsmouth, VA, and for several years had done custodial work at the WV National Guard Armory, Clarksburg. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother whose life’s work was taking care of her family, she was known as a mother to more than just her children. She was a Seventh Day Adventist by faith, and an avid reader.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, on Wednesday May 24, 2006 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM, where services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Fred T. Burton presiding. Graveside Committal Services will follow at 1:30 PM on Thursday at the Hood Cemetery, Folsom, Wetzel County.
