Maxine Mangelo, 84, of Rosemont, died Thursday afternoon, November 30, 2006, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on January 28, 1922, in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late John and Amanda (Wright) Cunningham.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Henderson, Harrison Goff Griffith, and Joe Mangelo.
She is survived by 12 children, John Henderson and his wife Frances, Shinnston; Albert Henderson and his wife Pam, Clarksburg; Dick Henderson and his wife Sara, Rosemont; Charles Griffith and his wife Rita, Lumberport; Anna Dodd and her companion Jim Cox, Clarksburg; Stella Mace and her husband Bill, Ellenboro; Roy Griffith and his wife Diane, Shinnston; Terry Griffith and his wife Linda, Shinnston; Harry Griffith and his wife Debbie, Rosemont; Jennifer Spurgeon and her husband Roger, Clarksburg; Jeff Griffith, Rosemont; and Hellin Davis and her companion Richard Dodd, Wilsonburg; 44 Grandchildren; 79 Great-grandchildren; and 3 Great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Hazel Yeater of Doddridge County, and several nieces and nephews compete her family.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Henderson, a daughter, Inez Cash; a grandson, Michael Scott; a granddaughter, Debra Griffith; two great-grandsons, Dusty Allen and Charles Zachery Leeson; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Maxine was a member of Victory Valley Church, Rosemont. She was a housekeeper for the Lida Clark Nursing Home, and enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 1:00 – 8:00 pm, where services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Sandy presiding. Interment will follow in the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
