John Neil Richards, 58, of Circle Drive, Quiet Dell, passed away Thursday evening, April 27, 2006, at his residence under the care of People’s Hospice following an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1948, in Philippi, WV, a son of the late Aubrey Neil and Edna (Fulton) Richards.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Dean Richards; two sons, Stephen Michael Richards, Morgantown; and Jason Neil Richards and his wife Sylvia Marie, at home; two daughters Jennifer Lynn Richards, Nutter Fort; and April Dawn Myers of Circle Drive, Quiet Dell; seven grandchildren, Corey Myers, Chelsea Myers, Kayleen Myers, Jerrad Richards, Seige Richards, Gavin Richards and Isabella Richards; three step-sons; one brother, David Clyde Richards and his wife Bernadette, Salem; one sister, Brenda Richards, Stonewood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Dewayne Richards.
John was a graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1966. He was employed as a parts manager for Country Club Chrysler, and had also previously worked at Harry Green Chevrolet and R.G. Motors. He was a collector of Jeff Gordon NASCAR memorabilia, as well as rare and old coins.

Friends may call at the Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, where funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Mary Ellen Finegan presiding. Interment will be in the K of P Cemetery, Salem.
