Betty Jean Griffith Armstrong

Betty Jean Griffith Armstrong, 78, of W. Olive Street, Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday afternoon in the United Hospital Center. She was born on November 3, 1927, in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, the daughter of the late Sidney Reed Griffith and Lelah Augusta (Hutchison) Griffith.
She is survived by her husband, Ross W. Armstrong, whom she married on July 10, 1953.
She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert E. “Bob” Griffith and his wife Patty of Clarksburg; two nephews and their spouses David A. Griffith and his wife Sherry of Avon, CT and Brian D. Griffith and his wife Beth Ann of Bridgeport and five great-nieces.
Betty retired from Anchor Hocking Glass from the packing department with over 30 years of service. She was previously employed with McNichol Pottery.
Friends may call at the Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2006. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Sanders presiding. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Mt. Clare.
