Anna Kovalck, 91, formerly of Owings and Fairmont, died Friday, December 1, 2006, in the United Hospital Center, Clarksburg. She was born in Yukon, PA, on September 12, 1915, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Dortha (Kutza) Cieniawski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kovalck, in 1998.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Spiker, Bridgeport; a sister, Nellie Kendzior, Akron, OH; and a brother, George Cimiawski, Owings.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary Hixen; Helen Skrzesiewski, Francis Davis, John Cienawski, and Dorothy Watson.
Anna was a graduate of Shinnston High School, a former member of St. Ann Catholic Church, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and visiting with her friends.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 1 – 8 pm, with the Vigil Service to be held on Monday at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Reverend John Ledford as Celebrant.
